The children will be creating a garden planting vegetables, herbs and fruit which they will be using in cooking activities and flowers to make our garden attractive to insects these activities can be enhanced by exploring how insects use the flowers for food. Creating mini beasts pictures, models and displays. Science and investigation using magnifying glasses to get up close to the bugs in our garden.
The children will also be looking at the benefits of recycling and also continuing on with the gardening theme…

Witnesham Area Pre-School is managed by a voluntary management committee, made up of parents of children at the pre-school. It opened in 1974 and operates from a building within the grounds of the Primary School.
The pre-school is open each weekday during term time, from 9am to 12noon.
All children share access to an enclosed and outdoor play area. The pre-school employs two staff, both of whom hold appropriate early years qualifications at levels 4 and 3. The pre-school is registered on the Early Years Register and receives funding for eligible 2 year olds (please contact us for information) as well as 3 and 4 year olds.
“The manager and her staff create a high quality pre-school that is welcoming, stimulating and safe.
The manager is fully committed to creating, maintaining and improving the pre-school, so that it meets the highest standards and offers the best experience for children.
All staff use their skills and expertise well to support the learning and development of all children, regardless of their age or ability“
– Ofsted June 2014
During the summer term the pre-school children who are joining the primary school in the coming September enjoy a weekly morning visit to reception class at the primary school.
They participate in the activities with the reception children and utilise the resources on offer. This is a valuable opportunity for the children to get to know the teachers and classroom and make the transition to big school a little less daunting.
Whilst this is happening the younger children do not miss out, they visit the school library and enjoy story time.
